Renomee AI Browser Extension Data Collection
Our browser extension offers two operating modes:
Local Mode (Default, Recommended)
- Fully offline — zero data transmission
- All file renaming done locally
- No browsing data, file info, or personal data collected
- Settings and history stored only in your browser's local storage
AI Mode (Optional, Requires Explicit Permission)
- Requires your explicit consent during installation or in settings
- Only the following data is collected to generate smart filenames: original filename, download URL, source page URL, file type (MIME type)
- File contents are never uploaded
- Your full browsing history is never tracked
- Data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS
- Processed server-side then immediately deleted — nothing retained
You can switch modes anytime in extension settings. Turning off AI mode does not affect local mode.

Our extension requests the following permissions for core functionality only:
